Summer Mission Trip Opportunity!
by Jeffrey Farmer - Thursday, 2 October 2014, 09:03 AM

Dear Students

The North American Mission Board (NAMB) is seeking to reach "send cities."  These cities have the lowest gospel presence in the nation and need people mobilized to shine the light in a dark place.  My good friend Gabriel Revilla is the NAMB mobilizer for the city of Miami.  Gabriel grew up in Miami and his desire, is to see the people of his city reached with the gospel.  Gabriel has contacted our university to offer the opportunity to live in Miami for the summer and share the gospel.

The purpose of this mission trip is to allow a generation of students to be immersed within a city (with a unique culture), gather information and proclaim the gospel. Students will be living a life on mission, learning the culture of the city, understanding the people there, and locating ministry needs.  The final goal is for the GEN SEND teams (those going) will be to gather together at the end of six weeks to present a plan to plant a church. The plan will include cultural information, areas of need, successful ministry strategies, and location.

The dates for the trip are June 24th-August 4th.  Each student will need toraise $600 for support.  Half of the money ($300) will be due by January 31st and the remaining amount will be due by May 31st.  This money is non-refundable if you are unable to go.  At the end of your time in Miami (August 1st) students will travel to Nashville, TN for a 3 day Send North America Conference. The student will be responsible for initial travel to Miami and travel from Miami to Nashville.  While in Miami students will stay at the Habitat Tower 2 and will be given a $900 debit card that will be used to purchase food, ministry use, or whatever needs arise.

This is an incredible opportunity to live in another culture and fulfill the Great Commission. You will be able to interact with a great team of leaders at Christ Fellowship Church in Miami and meet students from all over the United States.  Please pray about this exciting chance and for the city of Miami.

If you have any questions please call John Richardson, 336-870-6409 or email  If you want to speak with Gabriel you can call him @ 786-473-5693 or email
